‘Tis the Season

It’s that time again. The tree’s going up and there’s even been a decorative flurry of snow. Shops are increasingly chaotic, their customers a flustered horde fighting to get past each other without a moment to spare. So much for the Christmas spirit…

Amidst the frenzied scenes however, is a little touch of tradition. In high streets and outside supermarkets, the sound of a brass band playing Christmas carols helps to soothe the pain. Or adds to it, according to comments in the Aberdeen Evening Express. To the majority however, the quaint sound of carol-playing helps to make it all worthwhile.
