Carishea Soaps Making A Difference

Trade Right International works with women in Ghana, employing them to harvest shea nuts and turn them into butter. The butter is then transported to the company’s base in Greenock, Inverclyde, where individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds help produce a range of luxurious soaps and body balms, sold under the Carishea brand.

The process gives the Ghanaian women year-round employment. Those working on the Scottish side of the operation, meanwhile, learn a range of skills which increases their employability and helps them to re-integrate into society.
